Who We Are
The Alaska Chinese Association (ACA) was established in 1976 with about a dozen families. We are now in our 51st year, and our membership includes over 40 families. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with no political or religious affiliations. We host events to promote and celebrate Chinese culture, provide Mandarin Chinese language education through our Chinese School, and maintain social connections within the community.
The majority of our members come from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Southeast Asia, but we also have many second and third generation Chinese Americans and non-Chinese members as well. Our members come from all walks of life. We have government workers, petroleum engineers, teachers, bankers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, and airline/airport-service personnel, among many others.
Outlook and Goals
The Alaska Chinese Association continues to grow and make meaningful contributions to both the Chinese community and the broader Anchorage community. We are proud of the progress we’ve made, and we remain committed to continual improvement. With that spirit in mind, we have set the following goals:
To actively celebrate and promote Chinese culture through community activities, cultural events, and meaningful engagement.
To continually enhance the reputation and visibility of ACA, both within our organization and throughout the broader community.
To foster strong and lasting social connections among our members, encouraging participation, friendship, and shared cultural appreciation.
To enrich the educational experience at our Chinese School, empowering students to achieve fluency and confidence in the Chinese language.
